The story unfolds in a rural village, where my family’s fortunes took a turn for the worse after my father, burdened by financial troubles, borrowed money he couldn’t repay. This misfortune led to our ostracism from the community, a painful experience that left us feeling isolated and ashamed. Losing friends and facing rejection from those we had known all our lives was a heavy blow.
In search of a fresh start and a chance at redemption, my father made the decision to uproot our family and relocate to a nearby town. This move wasn’t easy, and we left our village quietly, without saying goodbye to anyone. It was a leap into the unknown, filled with hope for a better future.
Arriving in the new town brought its own set of challenges. My father, lacking formal education and specific skills, struggled to find stable employment. His health issues further complicated matters, making it difficult for him to keep up with the demands of physical labor.
Despite the setbacks, my father remained resilient, trying his hand at various ventures to make ends meet. From working in a public weaving society to venturing into the tobacco-selling business, he left no stone un turned in his quest for financial stability.
Meanwhile, I found myself thrust into adulthood at a young age, I start working in a local shop become a tailor. My brother pursued a different path, apprenticing under an RMP to become a local medical practitioner. In those days, there is no future to dream, all I see was endless pain not knowing where out lives moves on.
A turning point came when a relative visited our home and took note of my academic achievements. His words of encouragement sparked a glimmer of hope in my mother’s heart, prompting her to explore options for continuing my education. The suggestion of a social welfare hostel, where I could study without the burden of financial worries, was a lifeline we couldn’t ignore.
Despite the challenges we faced, my brother and I continued to pursue our dreams. While residing in the hostel, I juggled my studies with my job as a tailor, determined to carve out a better future for myself. My brother, too, embraced his medical apprenticeship with zeal, eager to make a difference in the lives of others.
